Due to heat emission into the sky, the back of a Newtonian secondary mirror can become colder during the night, and so the used surface, resulting in the formation of dew. The can be prevented by a heater.

This heater is designed to fit the secondary mirrors of Newtonians which have a hollow mirror housing which grips the mirror around the outer edge, such as Obsession and various other makes using the Astrosystems secondary mirror holder.

When used for secondary mirrors with stalks, remove the mirror from the stalk, glue the heater to the back of the mirror and the mirror with the heater back onto the stalk.
