ZEISS Abbe Barlow 2x - 1.25" and T2 connection
This Barlow lens doubles the focal length, can be used visually and photographically and the magnification factor can be increased up to 3x by using extension rings.
Connection at telescope side: 1.25" barrel Connection at eyepiece side: 1.25" receptacle, T2 thread (male) With 1.25" / T2 ClickLock eyepiece clamp by Baader Planetarium Visual Barlow lens and photographic eyepiece projection in one system Direct T2 adaption possible at eyepiece side - extends magnification up to 3x - without loss of quality The image quality is only exceeded by Baader´s 3x-8x flat field FFC-Converter, in case the projection factor exceeds 3x. ZEISS Abbe Barlow Lens 2x - 1.25" and T2 connection
This Barlow lens has been especially modified by ZEISS for Baader Planetarium:
New astronomical applications like webcam photography require new designs. The Barlow´s body is devided by T2 threads allowing very versatile use.
The direct T2 adaptation makes magnification factors up to 3x possible:
Using T2 extension tubes, the magnification factor of this Barlow lens can be increased up to 3x with no loss of image quality. Of course the adaptation of cameras is no problem, too.
High quality coatings:
The coatings are unique - only in lateral viewing one can see that glass lenses are installed at all. These are really one of the best coatings we know.
The diagram on image four attests to the exceptional performance of the multi-layer anti-reflection coating applied onto the new 2016 Carl Zeiss Abbe Barlow lens made in Jena / Germany. Carl Zeiss has chosen to develop and apply the very best coating ever made available to the most discriminating visual observer. The coatings feature a 0.2% loss over the exact spectral region where the night-adapted human eye is most sensitive. This extremely high efficiency also translates to near-zero coating scatter for the highest contrast ever seen. No lens system has ever been coated to more stringent requirements for visual observation and for VIS photography as well.
Eyepiece locking and micro focusing in one part:
The clou is the "Click lock" eyepiece holder by Baader. When an eyepiece is put in directly, one has a 2x Barlow lens with the possibility to focus the eyepiece with a turnable ring (a good idea for SC systems who tend to have mirror shifting).
When the focusing ring at the eyepiece holder is screwed off, a second T2 thread appears. It accepts T2 extension tubes. So it is possible to use this Barlow lens (with projection eyepiece in place!) as a premium quality projective for high magnification ratios.
[*Nearly unlimited application possibilities:]
Variation opportunities are nearly unlimited - from 2x to 3x, this Barlow lens covers every visual and photographical tasks possible. It is only surpassed by the Baader Fluorite Flatfield Converter when the magnification ratio exceeds 3x.
The Baader ClickLock® System at a glance
Never before an eyepiece receptacle for amateur astronomy has been manufactured thus complex. The Baader ClickLock (1.25"/2") is a precisely fitting, very massive eyepiece clamp without locking screws (!). Inserted eyepieces / CCD cameras etc. are held twist-proof but nonetheless will not be scratched! With a small 20° rotation any eyepiece will be clamped absolutely secure.
You don´t need to tighten our ClickLock clamps until your hand is damaged, as the mechanical principle origins from professional machine construction. The tool holder of modern CNC machining centers works the same way. By clever use of leverage effects, the clamping force is enhanced to the manifold extent. The inserted item is held at three sides, like with a quick-action chuck, and thus cannot carry out tilting movements anymore.
Detail of the 2" ClickLock system
A 20° rotation by pressing the rotary lever is sufficient to securely hold all 2" accessories perfectly safe and firmly. Ratchet function - shows acoustic and haptic to the position of the clamp. You will be able to recognise the position of the clamp even in the dark Massive compression ring - holds the most expensive accessory totally safe with no scratches and marring The lever position can be set via 6 slotted camera screws or 6 hexagon socket head screws with hex key for making the CL clamp usable for both right-handers and left-handers.
