The exiting Acuter Solarus-80 is an 80mm solar telescope with a safe, permanently-mounted white light solar filter of glass construction. which is useful for many different aspects of white light solar observing, including the observation of sunspots, solar eclipses, solar surface details & the transit of inner planets across the Sun.

It features a built-in rotating filter wheel, complete with pre-installed filters to allow the Sun to be viewed in different colours, and is comes with a universal smartphone camera adaptor (smartphone not supplied) to take photos using your smartphone, to keep a photographic record of your observations.

The Acuter Solarus-80 conforms to and meets the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2:2015 (Filters for the direct observation of the Sun). Always use in accordance with the instructions.

The outfit includes a technologically innovative auto-tracking Solar Go-To/auto-tracking mount. The clever mount is extremely user-friendly and provides a safe experience for automatically locating and observing the sun with your telescope.

Just roughly level the tripod and point the solar telescope anywhere to the left of the sun and let the Solar Alignment Technology automatically do the rest!! At the single push of a button, the telescope will be auto-levelled and the mount via GPS data fixing will calculate the altitude of the sun based on the time and location. The telescope will then be pointed to the correct altitude and the mount will slew clockwise hunting for the Sun. The Solar Sensor will detect the sun and lock onto it, and will silently track and keep it within the eyepiece´s field of view indefinitely.

The Acuter Solarus-80 Solar Telescope & Auto-Tracking Solar Mount Outfit can be used by educational establishments, beginners and experienced observers alike. If you have attached your telescope to the mount, this mount is a great aid for observing phenomena on the surface of the sun, but also other events close to the sun.

The lightweight and transportable sun tracker mount is quiet and has a load capacity of up to 4 kg. Telescopes with a Skywatcher/Vixen standard dovetail bar can be attached.

IMPORTANT HINT: The Acuter solar tracking mount is designed only for use with solar telescopes and telescopes with an objective (front) solar filter. Do not point any other optical device at the sun. Observing the sun without a safe, professionally manufactured solar filter causes immediate, permanent damage to the eyes and telescope and also represents a risk of fire.
