Crosshair eyepiece - 12.5 mm focal length - four-element - illuminated

The basis of this crosshair eyepiece is a Plössl eyepiece with 12.5 mm focal length. The good field sharpness and the pleasant view make this eyepiece a good and inexpensive solution.
Also with this reticle eyepiece, the illumination of the double crosshairs is continuously adjustable. So you can take the brightness of the guide star well into account.



[[The Double Crosshairs}]The double crosshairs allows you to position the guide star neatly in the center. You can hold the guide star accurately or achieve precise positioning of the calibration stars on GoTo instruments.

Practical tip from Teleskop-Service

When tracking, we always recommend positioning one axis of the crosshairs exactly parallel to the adjustment in right ascension and the other in declination.

You accomplish this by using the hand control box to move the stars back and forth in right ascension at medium speed. You twist the crosshairs in the holder until the stars run parallel to one of the two double crosshairs.

This allows you to see immediately during tracking whether the deviation is in right ascension or declination and you can correct accordingly quickly and correctly.
