Optec Hercules Low Profile Combination Focuser and Rotator
The Optec Hercules rotating focuser combines a camera rotator with a focuser.
Slightly smaller than its big brother, the robust Gemini focusing rotator, Hercules provides a full 3-inch clear aperture and 0.35" (about 9 mm) of travel while maintaining a thickness less than 50 mm.
High resolution
The drive of the focuser and the rotator offer an extremely high resolution. This ensures precise adjustment and excellent reproducibility.
Temperature compensation
Like all Optec focusers, Gemini also has an external temperature probe for automatic temperature compensation. Simply attach the temperature probe anywhere in the linear response range of your telescope (usually on the tube or a crosshead) and Gemini will automatically ensure that the camera is in focus. The Gemini Commander software provides a handy wizard for determining the TC or temperature coefficient of your telescope.
Connectivity
Integrated electronics offer improved functionality with native Ethernet, USB C and Hand Controller connectivity. No external controller is required.
Other functions
The Optec ASCOM and Alpaca drivers are capable of alt-az de-rotation, image orientation and composition in addition to the traditional guide-star acquisition capability.
Plus Hercules provides the outstanding focus control you will expect from Optec.
