Lacerta Power Splitter DeLux - power management on the observing site

The LACERTA Power Splitter deLux has 7 separate outputs which can be used for telescope accessories and mounts. It takes over the complete electrical management on the observing site and can supply up to 7 different appliances with short cables from one input lead.

As input, a standard EQ8 plug with screw connection is used - so the cable cannot disconnect inadvertently (tripping hazard in the dark). The item number is EQ8Kab. The cable is included in the delivery, but it can also be purchased separately.

Besides the 4 simple 12 V RCA outputs, 2 more RCA outputs with control can be found. Under load, the effective voltage can be continously adjusted from 1 V (or even below) up to 12 V with a potentiometer (energy-saving PWM control!): ideal for dew heaters or red background illumination. Is a dimmable socket not in use, power is switched off. Only after connecting an RCA plug, voltage is switched on.

On the side, there is also an further output in USB standard-A type format with 5 V output voltage (max 1 A).

The outputs have diferent signal colours so that you can better assign the different appliances.

The splitter has a 4 A slow-blow fuse which melts only after long-standing "high current". It works good with the "EQ8Kab" cable which has a fuse with 5 A peak value.
