Avalon M-tre Mount with StarGo2 Pro System
The M-tre is a single-arm equatorial fork mount designed specifically for astrophotography.Of course, it is also very well suited for visual observations.
With a carrying capacity of about 38/50 kg (one/two telescopes setup), the mount is ideally suited for serious use. A counterweight is not needed with this mount, as the mount is inherently balanced, but may be helpful when using the mount with one heavier telescope.
With the high resolution ABSOLUTE ENCODER on both RA/DEC axes, is possible to have accurate pointing and keep the mount orientation also after a shutdown.
As with normal fork mounts, it is no longer necessary to swing the mount around when the telescope passes through the meridian. This saves valuable exposure time and also simplifies image processing. Exposure times can be planned completely differently and REMOTE use also becomes easier.

The dual declination axis:
The M-tre mount comes with a fully rotating declination axis that allows you to use a second Losmandy style saddle plate for attaching a second telescope, telephoto lens or guide scope on the opposite side as a counterweight, allowing a significative reduction of the counterweights use.
The possibilities to move the DEC arm towards the RA axis (with the same mechanism and concept of the M-zero, M-uno and M-due mounts), facilitate the balancing procedure allowing to use as less as counterweight possible or even without any counterweight at all.
Absolute Encoders for pinpoint stars even without autoguiding:
With the M-tre mount, the exclusive belt drive system from Avalon Instruments has now been expanded to include the high-resolution ABSOLUTE ENCODERS. This eliminates the need for autoguiding when the mount is precisely aligned. Of course, the mount still offers the ST-4 level autoguider interface.
Revolutionary drive without backlash:
The AVALON mounts are driven by a toothed belt. It has no backlash and is superior to other mechanical drive designs, such as friction wheel. Tracking becomes even smoother and gear backlash in delclination is no longer a problem, the mount responds instantly.
StarGo2 Pro control system:
The mount is controlled by the new StarGo2 Pro, the controller has the following functions:
