Flares / Sun eruptions are visible earlier in Natrium-D2 light than in other parts of the visual spectrum.

You can attach the Quark to a telescope with a 1.25" connection tube.

Up to 80 mm of aperture you don´t need an additional filter. Above 80 mm, we sincerely recommend using a suitable ERF (Energy Rejection Filter) which blocks blue, green and infrared light and thereby prevents from overheating. We will be pleased to send you a bundled offer with a fitting filter.

Daystar Quark Sodium Solar Filter

Observation and imaging of our Sun in Sodium-D2 at 589 nm reveals more intricate details within sunspots and the photosphere than in white light.

The f-ratio of your refractor should lie between f/4 and f/8. Up to 80 mm you can use the Solar Filter without an extra Energy Rejection Filter. For bigger apertures we recommend an ERF which blocks out unused light and thermal radiation.

Just like the other Quark filters, this one comes with integrated heating which guarantees optimal functionality at all time.
