Ronald Stoyan "Atlas der Planetarischen Nebel", Oculum-Verlag (publisher), German language
Volume I: 176 objects between 0 h and 11 h
Planetary nebulae are a fascinating class of objects. The gas bubbles around dying stars are among the most beautiful structures the universe has to offer. The multi-volume "Atlas der Planetarischen Nebel" in German is dedicated to this species of deep sky in unprecedented detail and presents the most beautiful and exciting objects individually.
Stoyan goes far beyond the well-known planetary nebulae in the classic catalogs such as the Messier catalog or the NGC (»New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars«). In addition to numerous nebulae discovered by amateur astronomers, he also focuses on unusual objects such as Abell 21, Purgathofer-Weinberger 1 and Jones-Emberson 1.
Volume 1 deals with objects between 0 h and 11 h right ascension. History, astrophysics and observation are presented in detail for 176 nebulae. Up-to-date researched texts, the best photos by professionals and amateurs and drawings by the author make the "Atlas der Planetarischen Nebel" a special reading pleasure - a reference work and illustrated book in one. The result is a unique compendium on this spectacular class of astronomical objects.
Note: This book is available in German language only!
