The proven Baader solar filter film offers optimum protection for the sensor, the "Made in Germany" cell holds the filter film optimally and creates a fixed connection to the telescope or telephoto lens.

Optical Properties
Reliable and safe filtering of sunlight is guaranteed with the Baader AstroSolar Photo Film (OD 3.8) - the film is coated on both sides and mounted tension-free. Only 1/6,300 (OD 3.8) of the light is transmitted; the rest is reflected.

The sun is rendered in its natural whitish light, with greater contrast than when using the filter included with the telescope. The higher light transmission allows for shorter exposure times, which reduces the effect of atmospheric turbulence. However, precisely because of its higher light transmission, the film can no longer be used for visual purposes.

Safe filter film
The Baader filter film is more robust and safer than a glass filter. It is coated on both sides, which also eliminates the risk of small micro-holes. Like no other solar filter on the market, AstroSolar is CE-tested in accordance with EC standard 89/686 and EN 169/92 (notified body 0196). All work steps associated with this product have been thoroughly tested. The coatings are constantly tested for consistency to ensure your eye and device safety!

The cell from 3D printing
The cell comes from 3D printing. A solid and above all UV-resistant PETG is used so that the cell does not become brittle even after years. The cell is optimally adapted and a secure hold is guaranteed. Subsequent replacement is no problem thanks to the simple design with an internal clamping ring.

It´s easy to use: Simply insert the filter into the lens opening - a secure fit is guaranteed.
