ASI M54 filter/tilt flange
Adjustment of image plane and sensor position
Many astrophotographers know the problem: You focus as good as possible and in 1-2 corners the sharpness is still not satisfying. The result is a compromise by changing the focus setting until the stars appear relatively evenly "sharp" or by cropping the image.

Some possible causes of this problem:
a slight tilt of the camera sensor (even a few fractions of a millimeter will cause incorrect imaging).
a tilting of the focuser extension
a tilting of the field plane of the telescope (very common with Newtonian telescopes)
a tilting of the eyepiece side accessories in the clamp

This is the solution:
With the ASI M54-Tilter you adjust the tilt of the camera to the position of the field of the telescope. All you have to do afterwards is make sure that all the components between the telescope and the camera are always mounted in the same order and orientation.

{Connecting the camera to the tilt flange}]For attaching the tilt flange to the camera, the threaded holes of the camera, where the standard tilt flange is mounted, are used.

1. Use a hex wrench to take off the three M3 cylindrical screws on the adapter and remove the sensor tilt plate from the camera.

2. Place the base of the M54-Tilter onto the camera. Fix them with six 5*6Phillips flat-head screws.

3. Then place the telescope-side plate of the M54 tilter onto the base plate.

4. Connect the two plates with three M3 screws. Please do align the screws to the M3 screw holes (as shown in the mechanical drawing). The angle between each two M3 screws should be 120°..
