ASKAR Off-Axis Guider with universal Adapter Set
ASKAR´s off-axis guider allows you to capture and track with the same telescope. This saves weight and also reduces the possibility of errors. The workmanship and connectivity of this OAG allows it to be used on almost any telescope and with any astro camera. Due to the short design, even a filter drawer or filter wheel can be used.

Quick coupling and three camera positions:
The adapters on the camera side (T2, M48 and M54) are locked with three thumbscrews. There are three positions available, so you can prevent the prism from causing shading with larger sensors. In addition, the camera can be separated from the OAG with the adapter, without tedious screwing. The adaptation works like a quick coupling.

Flexible connection to the telescope:
The OAG also offers the best possible flexibility on the telescope side. The base body has an M54x0.75 female thread. Reductions to M48x0.75 and M42x0.75 (T2) female threads are included in the scope of delivery. This allows the connection to all common correctors and telescopes.

How to achieve 55 mm working distance with astro cameras with 17.5 mm flange focal distance
The flange focal distance always refers to the distance from the connection thread on the telescope side to the sensor. Most astro cameras for example from ZWO, TS-Optics, QHY, Touptec ... have 17.5 mm flange focal distance.

The off-axis guider has a thickness of 19.5 mm including the connection adapter on the telescope side. With a camera-side flange focal distance of 17.5 mm, 18 mm must therefore be bridged between the camera and the OAG. This can be done with simple extension tubes (see accessories section) or you can use the space for a filter drawer or filter wheel. Suitable filter holders are also linked in the accessories section.

Focusing the autoguider made easy.
The off-axis guider offers a M42x0.75 and 1.25" connection on the side. The OAG is optimized for autoguiders with 1.25" outer diameter, such as the Lodestar, the ZWO ASi120MINI or similar. The focusing is simply done via the microfocusing.

Autoguiders with a T2 connection, such as Lacerta´s MGEN, must be used without the 1.25" mount. These guiders connect directly to the T2 thread on the base.

Use of filters between off-axis guider and camera
Filters should always be inserted between the OAG and the camera. This way, the full amount of light is available for tracking. Narrowband filters in particular would cut off too much light. With a working distance of 55 mm and a camera flange focal distance of 17.5 mm (distance sensor to thread), 18 mm are available.

Our TSFSL TS-Optics filter drawers fit in there quite nicely. With 17-18 mm length, these drawers are ideal for changing filters. Filter wheels would be too long with at least 20 mm length for correctors with 55 mm working distance. Of course, this does not apply to correctors with longer distance or telescopes with integrated corrector, such as flatfield apos.

"Super Artikel, funktioniert perfekt. Bin von Guidescope auf OAG umgestiegen, und dieser funktioniert hervorragend."
