Description

StarScope 767

Double Cluster in Perseus

StarScope 767 - a great beginner's telescope with an XXL accessory package ....... age 8+

... a wonderful telescope for beginners and at a stunningly low price - that is what most beginners and even advanced amateurs say about this instrument.

If you are interested in the night sky and want to get hands-on experience in observing through a telescope this telescope is the right one for you. It shows nice images of the moon and the planets - the most interesting objects for those new to astronomy.

With this telescope you can see:

The Moon
Craters, mountain ranges, ridges, valleys, volcanic plains. Observe the sunrise in a moon's crater as more and more detail inside the crater becomes visible!

The Planets
Observe the phases of Venus, the cloud belts of Jupiter, Saturn's rings, the Galilean moons, ...

The Sun
With the optional Baader AstroSolar filter sheet you can safely observe the sun. Discover the sun's spots - centers of magnetic activity. You can find the filter sheet under "recommended accessories".

The Stars and the Deep Sky
Hundreds of objects are within reach of this telescope. Observe double or multiple stars with their different colours. Enjoy the beautiful view of a star cluster inside your telescope's field of view. Globular clusters are among the easiest objects outside our own galaxy that you can see with this telescope.

The left image shows the famous double cluster in Perseus (H + X Persei). This is a beautiful object easily visible in the Starscope 767. We recommend to use low magnifications on this stunning object!

Finding Objects with the StarScope 767:

The Starscope 767 comes complete with an alt-azimuth mount with adjustable height aluminium tripod. Assembly is easily done within a couple of minutes. Once assembled it takes only a few seconds to set the telescope up ready for observing.

The telescope can be pointed at any point on the earth as well as on the sky by intuitive left-right and up-down movement. The telescope even has a slow-motion control for the altitude movement. You will see: It is dead-easy!

Finding the object you wish to see is done with the help of a star chart, for example the excellent Deep Sky Reiseatlas or a planisphere. The object is first centered in the little finderscope and then viewed in the main telescope.

1.25" Focuser:

An often overlooked detail of particular importance. The focuser's job is to hold the eyepiece ("magnifying lens") in place and move it into focus for a sharp image. The eyepiece defines the magnification you get. The Starscope 767 has a standard 1.25" focuser, not the older 24.5mm size. As a result you can choose from hundreds of optional accessories available for 1.25".
Starscope 767 AccessoriesXXL Accessory Package Included:
