Description
TS Optics Giant Off Axis Guider - 60mm Clear Aperture - Low Profile
... a professional solution for dedicated astrophotographers - full illumination of large sensors

TS Giant Off Axis Guider

Off Axis Guiding is the perfect alternative for guide scopes: Less weight, no flexure between the two scopes, more light for the guiding camera. A small part of the field of view is reflected out to the side of the off axis guider where a guiding camera can use it for precise tracking.

Advantages of Off Axis Guiding:

-- Off Axis Guiders are lighter and more compact than a separate guide scope. This reduces the strain for the mount and might even allow you to use a lighter and cheaper mount.
-- Tracking is more precise by eliminating flexure between the guide scope and the main scope, or by avoiding image shift on Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The guiding camera will always experience the same amount of movement as the main camera, and will thus be able to compensate any movement.
-- The guiding camera uses the full resolving power and light gathering power of the main telescope. This results in a brighter, higher resolution image of the guide star, which makes it easier to discern tracking errors and correct them.

Advantages of the TS OAG25:

-- No Vignetting ... Many off axis guiders cause vignetting even on cameras with a moderately sized sensor. The TSOAG25 has a clear aperture of 60mm, allowing you to use it even on cameras with a large forma sensor!
-- Low Profile ... The off axis guider requires only 31mm of mechanical length (not counting the M69 male thread used for adaptation). It is ideal for use with the TS 2.5" field flattener, but due to the low profile can be used without back focus problems in almost all telescopes with a large focuser.
-- Easy Centering of Guide Stars ... The guiding turret can be freely rotated by about 100° without turning the main camera. The prism can be comfortably tilted with a thumbscrew. With both movements combined you can "scan" a large area of the sky for a suitable guide star.
-- Ergonomic Operation ... All functions of the OAG25 can be operated without tools and even with gloves on. The entire process of finding a guide star requires no more than two comfortable to use thumbscrews.

Telescope-Side Adaptations:

TSFlat2,5The 2.5" Off Axis Guider will screw directly into the M69 thread of the TS 2.5" field flattener. The Flattener is ideal for all refractors from f/5 to f/8. There is sufficient back focus for adaptation of almost all common cameras.
FLTFlat-M69iThis adaptor allows you to attach the TS OAG 25 to the William Optics FLT Flattener. Ideal for use on most large William Optics APOs.
Individual AdaptationWe can also offer custom-made adaptations for your individual setup. Please feel free to contact us for details!

Camera-Side Adaptation:

M69-M48This adaptor converts the OAG's 69mm thread to the standard M48 filter thread. From M48 we offer adaptations to most camera models. (See below.) 1mm effective length.
M48-2sAdaptor from the M48 thread to a 2" clamp with very low profile. This adaptor should be used with a 2" adaptor with dovetail connection, e.g. the 2-T2s or the 2-M42s. Only 12mm length.
2-M42sThe counterpart to the M48-2s Adaptor for use with M42x1 bayonet adaptors for SLR cameras. 1mm effective length.
M42-DSLR Cam

Bayonet adaptor with M42x1 thread instead of the standard T2 thread. The advantage of these adaptors is that they require less back focus than a normal T2 adaptation. For a T2 adaptor the standard back focus is 55mm. For these adaptors it is only 45mm from the front to the camera sensor!

We offer these adaptors for Canon EOS, Nikon or Four Thirds (Olympus Digital)

2-T2sLike 2-M42s, but with T2 thread (M42x0.75)
2-SCs(no image) Like 2-M42s, but with SC thread
2-EOSs(no image) A direct adaptation from M48-2s to the EOS bayonet without going through T2. This results in a larger illuminated field. The adaptor requires more optical length than the M42x1 adaptation, therefore it unfortunately cannot be used with the TSFlat2,5.
