Additional filter drawers for the TS filter holder allow you to switch between different filters in a matter of seconds. You can use as many filter inserts as you like and change the filter within seconds during the photo session. The filter drawer is suitable for unmounted 50 mm and 50.4 mm filters of any thickness.

The difference to mounted filters with M48 thread is in the illumination.
While mounted 2" filters can easily serve sensors up to APS-C format, they cause vignetting on cameras with larger sensors, for example full frame. The faster a telescope is and the further away the filter is mounted from the sensor, the greater the vignetting. Due to the mount, mounted filters only offer around 44 mm of free aperture, while unmounted filters with this drawer offer a full 48 mm of aperture. This is crucial for large sensors.

We always recommend one drawer per filter, as removing the filter from the drawer is cumbersome and time-consuming.

To mount the filter, first screw a screw into the holder. Then insert the filter so that you can clearly see the other three M3 internal threads. Do not tighten the screw completely. Then take the next M3 screw and screw it in. When you have fitted all four screws, move the filter so that it is positioned evenly between the screws. Then tighten the screws slightly so that the plastic tips make contact with the filter. It is not necessary to tighten them more.
