The PowerSeeker Telescopes
These telescopes are quick and easy to set up – even for the novice. No tools are required for assembly! The collapsible alt-azimuth mounts are perfectly suited for terrestrial (land) viewing as well as astronomical use.

All of Celestron’s PowerSeekers include a full range of eyepieces plus a 3x Barlow lens that provides an increase in viewing power hundreds of times greater than that of the unaided eye!

PowerSeekers are designed and manufactured using all fully coated glass optical components with high transmission coatings for enhanced image brightness and clarity. All telescopes of this series show an upright, non-mirrored image!

The PowerSeeker 70AZ
With its long focal length, this refractor is everyone´s idea of a telescope: a long, slim tube. The light is gathered by the objective lens at the front and focused into the eyepiece at the other side of the tube.

The focal ratio of 1:10 (70 mm aperture / 700 mm focal length) provides for an image free of false colour, even without expensive special glass types, thus the telescope performs as well as considerably more expensive ED refractors of the same aperture.

For this, lunar and planetary observations are a lot of fun. Brighter deep-sky objects, like the Orion Nebula or the Pleiads, benefit from the high contrast of the lens optics.

Future-proof: The telescope has an 1.25" focuser. This is the most common size, so there is a huge range of eyepieces and other accessories available.

The mount
Alt-azimuth mounts allows moving the telescope parallel and vertical to the horizon. This kind of tracking is very intuitive and is also suitable for nature observation. The axes can be locked, the height can be fine-adjusted.

For keeping eyepieces and Barlow lens when not used, an accessory tray is atttached to the middle of the tripod.
