EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GOTO Mount

The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GOTO mount has a completely new developed Goto control. It consists of a WiFi controller unit which provides all necessary interfaces. The stepper motors are connected directly to this unit via cable, and an ST4-compatible autoguider interface is of course also available. The controller also supports microstep operation to ensure precise tracking.

Power is supplied by 12 Volt direct current and the current consumption at full load is max. 1.6 Ampere. You can use tablets, notebooks, or desktop PCs with at least a 7" (17.5 cm) display, WiFi function, and WIN8.1, WIN10, iOS, or Android 4.4 or later operating systems to control the mount with WiFi.

The specially developed App ExploreStars offers a graphically very well-made user interface. Thus, the currently possible alignment stars for the initialization of the control and also all celestial objects of the database are displayed as a star chart with additional text information. All these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.

The heart of the controller unit consists of a fully self-sufficient 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wifi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP function, which allows operation from anywhere via browser, ASCOM, APP or serial port.

The name Open Goto also promises the possibility to write your own firmware and load it into the controller unit. Thus individual adjustments of the device functions and also the creation of own object lists etc. are possible.
