Make your AXJ mount more comfortable and precise with high-precision encoders! The Vixen AXJ encoders allow you to approach celestial objects manually via the monitor and achieve high tracking accuracy.

Normally, computer-controlled mounts have an automatic GoTo system in which the positions of the objects must be stored using a 2-star alignment before observation. The mount is then able to find the objects automatically. However, if you release the clamping levers on the mount while using the GoTo system, the telescope loses information for identifying the object positions and the GoTo function becomes unusable. For this reason, the telescope could not be moved manually until now. With the AXJ encoders, this is now possible. This allows you to move to an object with GoTo and set the next one manually by releasing the clamp without losing the positioning information for the following GoTo. You can now easily set the objects manually on the high-resolution monitor of the STAR BOOK TEN control unit.

The second major advantage is an enormously high tracking accuracy with a periodic error of less than 0.5 arc seconds, which allows long exposures of faint celestial objects without an autoguiding system. A dream for every serious astrophotographer.

The AXJ encoders are mounted inside the mount and thus do not change the dimensions of the AXJ mount. You can therefore continue to store the device in your existing storage case without any problems.
