Equip your TS Newtonian with a carbon tube to increase rigidity and significantly reduce weight. We offer this special service to all owners of TS Newtonian telescopes.

The advantages of carbon tubes over metal tubes:

We recommend the carbon tube upgrade especially for astrophotography. Focus drift due to temperature changes caused by thermal expansion of the tube is significantly reduced. The images become sharper. In addition, the carbon tube reduces weight and is at the same time stiffer than a metal tube. This improves adjustment stability.

Safety information and practical tips – drilling in carbon:

We recommend using a sharp wood drill bit for drilling in carbon. On the one hand, the drill bits have a sharp tip, which allows you to position them precisely, and on the other hand, the drill bit cuts through the material easily. Metal drill bits are not as suitable for carbon.

As carbon dust is hazardous to health, we recommend that you only drill outdoors and wear a mask when drilling.
