Complete carbon tube with more rigidity thanks to 3 mm wall thickness.

Equip your Skywatcher Newtonian with a carbon tube to increase its rigidity and significantly reduce its own weight. We offer this very special service for all owners of Skywatcher Newtonian telescopes. You can continue to use all parts of your Skywatcher Newtonian. All necessary holes and drillings are available, but those for the focuser base are only present if we know which base or focuser is to be used .

The tube is 3 mm thick. This gives you considerably more stability compared to thinner carbon tubes, but also compared to the original heavier metal tube.

However, the primary mirror cell and the front ring no longer fit perfectly, as the groove on both parts is designed for the thin metal tube. On request and for an extra charge, we can have the primary mirror cell and the front ring turned for you. Both parts can then be sunk into the tube. The advantage is that you can determine the focus position yourself, similar to the ONTC Newtonians.

The advantages of the TS carbon upgrade:

The weight of your telescope is considerably reduced, while at the same time the rigidity is increased. Twisting, e.g. at the focuser, is a thing of the past.

The focus position is held much better because carbon has a more favorable expansion value than metal. This means you need to refocus less often for long exposures. The images are sharper.
