TS-Optics beam splitter for telescopetesting
A common method for determining the quality of a telescope is inspection by autocollimation.
In this procedure, the light beam used for the inspection passes through the telescope twice; as a result, any errors are magnified twice.
In addition to the beam splitter unit, a high-precision flat mirror (diameter at least as large as the aperture of the telescope to be tested) and suitable equipment for analyzing the reflected beam are required.
