TS Camera Holder for ToupTek cameras with 80 mm body diameter

Modern astro cameras produce very good results even with good camera lenses. Especially with shorter focal lengths, excellent astrophotos of large areas of the sky, such as parts of our Milky Way, can be taken. The advantages of cooled cameras are of course clearly visible. The use of cameras with wide-angle lenses on photo tripods or on parallel mounts via the 1/4" photo tripod thread is also attractive. The TSHOLDER80 allows the cameras to be connected to photo tripods or to mounts, astro trackers or double mounts via the matching dovetail bar.

The TSHOLDER80 is suitable for the following cameras:
We recommend the TSHOLDER for all ToupTek cameras with an 80 mm body diameter, such as TS 2600, TS 533, TS585, and of course the corresponding cameras from QHY, Altair, ALCCD etc., which are also manufactured by ToupTek. The holder is dimensioned so that the important fan openings are not covered. Thanks to the 3D printing, the holder is so precise that the camera is clamped gently but still very stable, in our experience even better than with the metal holders. With the optional adapters, you can use Canon EF, Nikon or various lenses with T2 and M48 mounts, such as Askar FMA.

Connecting the TSHOLDER to tripods and mounts:
There are two internal threads at the base of the holder. One internal thread is 1/4". This allows you to attach the holder directly to photo tripods or piggyback holders. A second internal thread is M6. If you attach the holder to a dovetail bar with slotted holes, this second thread prevents the adapter from twisting, even if it is unbalanced. You can use normal M6 screws from a hardware store.

A special feature, the finder shoe is already included:
The finder shoe allows the use of commercially available finder scopes, e.g. from TS-Optics, Skywatcher, GSO or Vixen. This allows you to set the object area when working with photo tripods or small astro trackers, for example. Alternatively, the finder shoe also offers space for a mini-guidescope for tracking. This is particularly exciting if you want to use the camera with the holder on an astronomical mount and do autoguiding.
