TS-Optics elliptical Secondary Mirrors for self-construction of Newtonian telescopes
Telescope-Service´s secondary mirrors are intended for self-construction and improvement of Newtonian telescopes. They provide an accurate flat surface that is mirrored with an aluminum layer. The layer is sealed with a protective quartz layer, so that the mirror retains its properties even after years.
Telescope-Service uses these mirrors also in the production of our own telescopes. The mirrors are then subjected to a regular quality check. This ensures that the optical quality of the main mirror also reaches the eyepiece or camera.
The secondary mirror is attached to the holder with silicone. The connection is stable and durable.
Lightweight construction and faster cooling
The precisely machined mirror substrate is manufactured in a special construction method. The carrier is not a massive and heavy glass block, but is cast in a cell structure. The advantage is less weight and also faster cooling, because the mirror also has less mass, which stores the temperature.
The weight in particular is an advantage because it prevents the spider from twisting due to extremely heavy secondary mirrors.
