TS Stray Light Shield for 10" Ritchey-Chretien Truss Telescopes
Protects your Ritchey-Chretien (RC) telescope from stray light and dust.

The TS Stray Light Shield for 10" RC Truss Telescopes effectively protects the telescope from stray light. The contrast of the image is significantly improved. In addition, the susceptibility to dew is significantly reduced and the penetration of dust during observation is also reduced.

The stray light protection is attached within seconds and can also remain on the telescope during transport. On the inside there are two ABS bands that keep the stray light protection in shape and thus prevent the fabric from collapsing. This prevents obstruction of the beam path.
Suitable for:10" Ritchey-Chretien Truss Telescopes

"I am using that scope for astrophotography of deep sky. I think the RC10 is the perfect instruments for people that can not have a fixed observatory but wants a big diameter. The total weigth of the OAT is 15kg and with equipement it comes to 20kg. So you will need a mount that can support that weigth.Idealy harmonic drive mount that can do 30 kg (like the WD-20 I own or a Nyx101) or equivalent in terms of classical mount. Be carefull that when you buy that OTA will have to buy a lot of additionnal stuff to do serious astrophotography , like a decent focuser , a focal reducer, a lot of various rings to connect everything, a camera , APS-C with not to small pixels size is recommanded for this kind of scope due to the long focal even with a focal reducer (focal will be between 1350 and about 2000 depending the reducer and backfocus used or not). You will also have to buy a serious collimation equipment. The best I found up to now for collimation is the TSCOLLIT-G2 , else ocal2 is ok if you screw the camera on the scope to ensure a good alignement. Regarding the quality of the RC10 , it is very good and I am happy with it. Now I had to remove a star because mine arrived totally uncolimated with some screw on the tilt ring totally unscrewed . Neither the secondary nor the primary were aligned. It seems to me the scope was just assembled in factory and sent without checking the basic of colimation , and it was not uncolimated because of transportation it was just not colimated at all. So I had to check everything in particular the distance between the mirors that should be about 463.6mm according manufacturer specification. Due to the status of the scope out of the box I was not sure it was ok . Now all is collimated and set correctly, I did my 1st ligth on M100 and it gives some wonderfull result with a lot of details. "Good only. I wished it was a little bit bigger. It feels a bit tight and needs careful adjustment on the truss tube to ensure it hasn´t come off at a corner. "
