Baader 4x telecentric system

The Baader telecentric system extends the focal length of a refractor without compromizing its optical performace on- or off-axis. The focal plane is free of field curvature.

Fields of use

H-Alpha observation and photography of the sun}]This is the main use of this system. It is used to achieve the f/30 focal ratio needed for the solar spectrum H-alpha filters.
Lunar and planetary imaging: Although not designed for this, the telecentric system allows very good results here, too.

Advantage of the telecentric system compared with standard Barlows

In contrast to a Barlow lens, the telecentric system creates parallel rays allowing finest contrast and details in the whole field of view.
