Mobile power supply for small GoTo telescopes!

A big advantage of most small altazimuth GoTo mounts is the ease of transport. However, mobility is considerably restricted if you have to drag a heavy battery around with you. These bulky energy storage systems are often oversized for small telescopes. Until now, the only alternative was to power a mount with batteries. The telescope then becomes a real battery guzzler.

The inexpensive and compact Omegon Powerbank 10k protects the environment and your wallet! It is as light as a feather and does not restrict your mobility. Also cumbersome fumbling around with the battery compartment becomes a thing of the past. The Powerbank 10k only needs to be plugged into the 12 V input of the mount. Of course, the power bank can also supply other devices with 5, 9, or 12 volts via its USB ports.

Inside the Powerbank is a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 10.000 mAh (@3.7 V). This is equivalent to 37 Wh or 3 Ah at 12 V. A small mount can thus be operated for about 4-6 hours.

Built-in protection against short circuiting, overcharging, deep discharging and overloading protects not only the Powerbank itself, but also the connected telescope.

The 12 V connector (5.5x2.1 mm, tip-positive) fits most mounts. Caution: unfortunately MEADE mounts require a different connector (5.5x2.5 mm). The Omegon Powerbank 10k can be used for small altazimuth GoTo mounts including:
