Omegon Mount MiniTrack LX Quattro NS Set with Ball Head
MiniTrack LX Quattro: Astrophotos that succeed
The Omegon MiniTrack Quattro is a mini mount for astrophotography with wide-angle and light telephoto lenses. With it you will succeed in taking fascinating pictures of the starry sky - even if you have had nothing to do with astrophotography before.
This astrotracker runs purely mechanically, without batteries - and now also carries heavy cameras and lenses weighing up to 4 kilograms. But there´s more to it than that: The MiniTrack Quattro has been redesigned from the ground up and is now better than ever. For successful astrophotos that are addictive.
The advantages at a glance: Successfully photograph the night sky with no hassle. Never recharge: Works via a mechanical system, independent of battery and power outlet Wind up the mount and get started immediately Optimal for overview shots of the night sky and for telephoto lenses Fits in any backpack: a perfect travel mount - wherever the road takes you.
The special advantages of the MiniTrack LX Quattro: Even stronger: the new MiniTrack now carries heavy cameras up to 4 kg. A needle bearing ensures smooth running - for better tracked photos Newly developed spring system: The stronger spring system replaces a counterweight and also reliably tracks cameras under heavy one-sided loads CNC body: The MiniTrack is made of one piece of milled aluminum - valuable, stable and a companion on every excursion. Optical polar finder scope for an exact alignment to the celestial pole Easy conversion for astrophotography under the southern night sky Easy to install: Integrated Vixen GP style dovetail - no additional dovetail bar required
Better astrophotography while traveling and at home
Now bring home not only vacation photos, but stunning astrophotos from your trip. It´s easier than you think. All you need: a tripod, the MiniTrack, a ball head and your camera. Stripped down to the essentials, it has one mission: to take good astrophotos that anyone can succeed at. And here´s how it does it ...
Mechanical 60-minute tracking
The MiniTrack has a heart of mechanics - electronics have no place here. A precise clock mechanism tracks your camera with pinpoint accuracy. Wind up the MiniTrack like an analog watch and tracking is activated. This mount never breaks down, even in sub-zero temperatures. Even with telephoto lenses, your new mount will keep its cool. It´s not for nothing that this wide-field imaging expert has taken the hearts of amateur astronomers by storm.
The world´s smallest counterweight?
The MiniTrack Quattro has a completely new developed spring system. It is not a counterweight, but it works like one. At the same time, the LX Quattro remains as compact and travel-ready as ever. It has simply become better and stronger. The spring acts directly on the axis and tracks your camera like a strong and precise arm.
Tip: You achieve an ideal tracking speed when the clockwork ticks 130-135 times per minute. Depending on the weight of your camera, you will need to tension the spring differently. We recommend that you determine the ticks per minute with a "TapTempo app BPM" for smartphones. These apps actually come from music and are designed to automatically measure the tempo of a piece of music. Make use of such an app and measure the speed of the MiniTrack.
Needle bearing: Precisely Following the Stars
What power steering is to a car, the integrated needle bearing is to the new MiniTrack: it runs smoothly as if on clouds. That´s exactly what´s needed, because it allows the MiniTrack to follow the stars smoothly and precisely, even with a heavier weight.
Inside and outside wow: CNC housing made of solid aluminum
A real eye-catcher: The body of the MiniTrack Quattro now consists of one piece of aluminum. Nothing has been left out here, which makes this model even more stable. Whatever you ask of your MiniTrack, it will accompany you on the mountains or on your travels and will put away any astro adventure with a twinkle in its eye.
High carrying capacity of 4 kilograms
The MiniTrack has now become fitter and can also handle cameras weighing up to 4 kilograms. At the same time, the developers have retained the old and proven shape. So the MiniTrack Quattro still fits in any pocket. You always wanted to use a large and particularly fast lens? Unfortunately, that was always too big - but now it´s possible.
Find the celestial pole more accurately
Easily find the celestial pole with the optical polar finder scope. The MiniTrack includes a holder and a polar finder in the scope of delivery, as it is used with large mounts. This makes it even easier to align the MiniTrack for images with point-like stars.
Fits on any photo tripod
The MiniTrack has two connections: for the tripod and for your camera or a ball head. Place the mount on your photo tripod as usual via a 1/4" screw and align the MiniTrack as desired. The ball head is already mounted on the other side, but you can also mount another one as long as it has a 3/8" thread at the bottom.
GP style dovetail
Simply place the MiniTrack on a polar wedge. You don´t need a dovetail bar to do this. A Vixen GP style dovetail has been integrated into the body. Here, everything is "cast" from one piece and you never have to waste your thoughts on screws or hex keys again.
And if you want to mount the MiniTrack on a photo head? There´s an integrated 1/4" and 3/8" thread for this purpose.
Invented by Cristian Fattinnanzi, further developed by Omegon
The MiniTrack was developed by Christian Fattinnanzi of Italy. Omegon has further developed and technically realized the MiniTrack together with the inventor. In the meantime, it has become a real perennial favorite and is used by thousands of astrophotographers all over the world. To ensure consistently high quality, Omegon manufactures the MiniTrack exclusively in Portugal, where it is assembled and tested by their expert staff.
With this fully mechanical mini-mount, you´ll be taking astrophotos in no time. No power. No charging. No batteries. Just take pictures. Anytime and anywhere.

"Für ein Gerät, das ohne Strom die Nachführung des Sternenhimmels übernimmt, macht der MiniTrack LX Quattro seine Sache sehr gut. Produkt sieht wertig aus. Einzig die komplett aus Plastikteilen bestehenden Zahnräder der Uhr lassen mich etwas an der Wertigkeit zweifeln. Dies hatte jedoch bis jetzt keinen Einfluss auf die Funktion des Gerätes. Würde es wieder kaufen."
