Avalon M-Zero AZ & EQ GoTo Single Arm Fork Mount with Tripod
The revolutionary M-Zero GoTo mount from Avalon offers the proven combination of style, funktionality and quality which can be expected from a mount from Europe. Due to the unique design, this all-rounder offers plenty of new possibilities to the amateur astronomer. The mount is the perfect companion for the mobile observer and for the demanding astrophotographer.
The advantages of the M-Zero at a glance:
Weighing only 5.5 kg in total, the mount supports telescopes up to 10 kg (photographic up to 8 kg) Alt-azimuthal AND equatorial mode (astrophotography) possible Even telescopes with long tubes like APO refractors can be used No meridian flip, so no break within an exposure or an exposure series when the object crosses the meridian Time-lapse port for DSLR cameras Easy calibration of the computer as well in alt-azimuthal as in equatorial mode Due to the weight of only 5.5 kg (mount head), the mount is even suitable for air travel Continuous declination shaft allows attaching a second telescope or a guiding scope to the opposite side of the mount. The advantages of the toothed belt drive - no gear drive problems anymore:
A toothed belt drive has type of construction no backlash. When using worm drives the moving parts touching only at a contact point in each case. Thereby the leverage forces and stresses lead to small, non-linear inaccuracies in the drive. There are also - due to manufacturing tolerances due - partly irregular runout of worm and worm wheel. All this eliminates the belt drive! The advantage: autoguiders work very well with the AVALON mounts, giving perfectly round stars as a result.
No meridian flip needed
M-zero and M-uno single arm astronomical mounts allow to track an object all night long without the need to flip the telescope when the mount is passing through the meridian!

If required, however, the M-zero can also be operated with meridian flip.
Intelligent telescope balancing
The fork arm can be moved transverse to the right ascension axis, thus shifting the telescope´s center of gravity into it.

The Star-Go control "Made in Europe":
For this GoTo system only electronics and hardware components were used which are produced in Europe.
High precision motors allow speeds of 0.05x to 1000x. The Stargo interface at the mount has many useful connections. In addition to the classical ST4 guiding port, the control has three auxilary ports for various devices, a port for connecting a DSLR camera, a USB port and a connector for motorized focusers.
Every STAR-GO control comes with a PC software interface whichcan control the mount and all attached components. Included is a classic hand-held controller. Bluetooth control is possible via optional Android app. Software updates via PC are always possible.
Thanks to the Dual-DEC system, it is possible to install a second telescope in the opposite side of the declination axis. Considering this capability it is possible to use a great range of optics starting from a small (4-5 kg / 8.8-11 lb) refractor up to a double setup with a total weight of 12-13 kg / 26.4-28.6 lb, obtaining performances so good to get it over the need of a bigger mount.
