Avalon M-Uno equatorial GoTo fork mount with Skywatcher Goto controller
The Avalon M-Uno Fast-Reverse mount is a single-arm equatorial fork mount designed specifically for astrophotography.Of course, it is also very well suited for visual observations. With a payload of approx. 20 kg, the mount is optimally suited for mobile use. A counterweight is not needed with this mount, the mount is balanced in itself.
Completely independent due to Skywatcher GoTo system
Instead of the Star-Go, Avalon installs the thousandfold proven stepper motors from Skywatcher with the matching Skywatcher V5 handbox. This has some advantages:
You don´t need a smartphone or tablet for GoTo operation, the mount is completely independent. Of course it offers all features like ST-4 autoguiding interface, different menu languages like German or English, and of course operation via PC or laptop. The M-UNO is often bought by astronomers who own a Skywatcher Goto mount. There is no need to change to a new system for menu navigation, everything works as before. No meridian flip necessary:
As with normal fork mounts, it is no longer necessary to flip the telescope at meridian passage, you can simply continue the exposure. This saves valuable exposure time and also simplifies image processing. The exposure times can be planned completely differently and also the REMOTE use becomes easier.

New - the continuous declination axis
The special feature of the new M-Uno Dual mount is the continuous declination axis. This allows you to mount a 2nd telescope, telephoto lens or guiding scope on the opposite side. We also offer the matching quick couplers (Losmandy style or Vixen/EQ5 style) in the accessories section. You can use them to better balance the instrument weight and thus significantly increase the overall load capacity of the mount.
Other advantages and product features:
very compact and light, the mount head weighs only 15 kg carrying handle and mounting handle on the housing - detachable via quick-release coupling no more swiveling necessary for meridian passage 3" Losmandy style saddle plate for easy clamping and balancing universal connection plate ready for Skywatcher, Celestron tripods as well as Baader hardwood tripods no exposed cables due to internal cable routing high quality and elegant mechanical workmanship easy to read and accurate altitude scale mechanical clamping on both axes integrated polar finder scope for easy polar alignment high quality bearings in both axes very short settling times very quick - set up and aligned in only a few minutes and ready for long time exposures fork arm is adjustable - weight compensation for medium-weight telescopes without counterweightRevolutionary drive without gear backlash, but also without the disadvantages of friction wheel mounts:
The AVALON mounts are driven by a toothed belt. It has no backlash and is superior to other mechanical drive designs, such as friction wheels.
The main problems of many mounts are the gear backlash and errors in the motor gear. Especially with these often very fast occurring errors autoguiders have a hard time and the result are unnecessarily large stars. This problem does not arise with AVALON mounts.
