TS Optics TRAZPH - Altazimuth mount with fine adjustment for photo tripods

This economically priced mount is an interesting alternative to geared heads or tilting heads. The TRAZPH accomodates small telescopes, cameras and spotting scopes up to 2 kg weight.

Coarse adjustment and fine adjustment combined

Unfasten the release levers for altitude adjustment and you can slew form horizon to zenith within seconds, thus tracking fast moving objects. Fasten the levers and the fine adjustment with flexible shafts take effect. Now you can adjust very precisely and center objects even at high magnifications, but also track very slowly moving objects.

The TS Geared Head is a real all-rounder. It is especially suitable for:

Astronomy - You have complete swivelling capability from horizon to zenith, every object in the sky is accessible to you. Once centered, you can track the object with the flexible shafts. Even at high magnifications, you can keep the planet or nebula exactly in the center.

Observing the countryside - Whether birding with a spotting scope or daylight viewing with binoculars or small telescopes, the TRAZPH is the perfect base. With only 1.3 kg, this geared head is also no heavyweight and can easily be taken anywhere.

Photography - The advantage of the TRAZPH over a tilt head is the fine adjustment. Especially photographers with telephoto lens get annoyed over the coarse adjustment. When the motive is exactly centered, often the best moment is gone. No problem with the TRAZPH: simply center the motive relaxed with the gears in both axes - and release.

The convenient quick release

You can attach your equipment to the mount within seconds, whether it is a camara, telephotolens, a spotting scope or an astronomical telescope. Suitable dovetail bars are offered in the "we recommend" section.

Mounting to the photo tripod

The TS Optics geared head has a female 3/8" thread at the base (diameter 75 mm). That is exactly the thread which almost all photo tripods use as connector. We recommend the combination with photo tripods from TS Optics, as they are especially robust and loadable. But you can use all other photo tripods, too.
