With the next generation of Meade Audiostar, now with audio files and an internal speaker with access to over 30000 sky 0bjects, to which you can navigate at the touch of a button. Simply enter the wanted object into the Audiostar handbox, press GOTO, and follow the slewing of your telescope. Within a few seconds the object appears reliably in your field of view. This is one of the most significant developments in the history of telescope-controllers in the last 25 years.

Connect the Meade Audiostar to one of the ETX/EC/LX- models and you can immediately search for celestial objects with your telescope. Thus you can instantly observe these objects without any major prior knowledge. The Audiostar handbox is simply plugged into the socket instead of the old one. Next you are guided through a coherent initialization procedure (takes less than a minute). After that, 30000 celestial objects ranging from moon to far removed galaxies lie to your feet!

Simply enter the wanted object into the Audiostar handbox, press GOTO, and follow the slewing of your telescope. Within a few seconds the object appears reliably in your field of view. It really is that easy for a beginner, to observe a dozen, without the Audiostar hardly locatable sky objects, e.g. the famous Ring Nebula in Lyra (M57), the spiral galaxy M33 in the Triangulum constellation or the ´Sombrero´-Galaxy M94 in the constellation of Virgo. Even objects, that are almost invisible to our eyes, like the diffuse nebula NGC 6559 in Sagittarius, the star cluster NGC 1778 in Auriga or the spiral galaxy NGC 3310 in Ursa Major will be confidently located by the AudioStar and can subsequently be observed; much more convenient than with laborious manual positioning.

The AudioStar data base holds objects of all categories and easily enough objects, for you to spend many many nights and evenings with it! Each of the 30.000 objects can be selected from the catalogue within seconds. Then you simply press the GOTO button on the handbox, and the telescope will slew to the wanted object. The AudioStar makes it possible for beginners to observe countless Deep-Sky objects, that were previously reserved to deep-seated enthusiasts.

Without exaggerating one can say, that the Meade Audiostar heralds the start of a new era for beginners in astronomical observation, like the LX200 and LX200GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain-models for engaged amateur astronomers had done before.
