Lacerta polar scope bracket with scope
The Vixen Polarie is a smart and precisely running camera mount but precise polar alignment is critical. As polar alignment errors are nearly independend from the focal length, precise polar alignmend is the most important factor.

The small bore in the Polarie only allows coarse alignment. And if the original Vixen polar scope is used, the camera has to be removed before causing more complicated setup and unbalancing the system.

The Lacerta OAH polar scope bracket also works with the camera attached to the Polarie.
Mount your camera AND the polar scope, align exactly and begin your exposures!
Now deep-sky imgaing with longer focal lengths is possible.

The polar scope F52
can be adjusted with three screws so it will be parallel to the R.A. axis. It is illuminated and compatible with the northern and southern hemisphere.
Northern hemisphere: Pole, Polaris and the direction to Kochab (Beta Ursae Minoris) are engraved.
Southern hemisphere: The stars of Tau-Octantis group are to be used.

"Is this as accurate as the Vixen polar scope? No! But most people will be using lightweight gear which will move a little when the camera is attached, throwing the alignment off. So when you factor in that, the Lacerta might actually give you BETTER polar alignment as it stays connected all the time. I´m subtracting 1 star as you get NO information on how to use it. Not everyone will know how to align it or know what the Kochab Clock is ***"
