Baader CDP weights are made of solid stainless steel, with a pressed-in insert of aluminum.
Stainless steel is always a little rough on the surface, but the surface always stays the same, does not need to be painted or coated, and can withstand scratches and dents without becoming unsightly.With steel weights, the thread on the mounting screw often rusts after some time, especially if the mount is left outdoors. A weight made of V2A steel throughout will not age or rust even in such sensitive areas.
