Excellent transmission characteristics

The transmission range of the filters is designed to allow the emission lines that are important in deep sky photography to pass through unobstructed, giving a strong signal and vivid colors with your camera. Raw images created with the Astronomik Deep-Sky Color Filter Set are even easier to combine into a stunning composite.

During the development and testing phase of the Astronomik Deep-Sky RGB filters, the manufacturer focused his attention on the sensitivity curves of popular astro cameras. He did not rely on manufacturer´s specifications, but made extensive measurements in the development lab itself! The result is an excellent, balanced color reproduction and best color contrast with all current sensors!

Technically mature

The transmission properties and the coating technology of the new Astronomik Deep-Sky RGB filters were designed in such a way that no halos and reflections are visible. Even with bright stars in the field of view, nebulae and galaxies are imaged with finest structures and highest contrast.

Like all filters from Astronomik, the Deep-Sky RGB filters have an extremely resistant and durable coating, applied to a fine-optical special substrate, as it is also used in space travel. The basic requirement for such material is freedom from streaks, stresses and bubbles. Furthermore, the Astronomik filter substrates are processed to the same thickness in a separate operation: Perfect homofocality and lowest wedge error are the resulting benefits!

Matched Luminance Filters

In addition to the new Deep-Sky RGB filters we offer three different luminance filters. The different passbands are chosen in such a way that the L-filter can be selected to match the color correction of the telescope. So even with moderately color corrected optics excellent images are possible!
