TS-Optics Variable Polarising Filter 1.25" for moon and planets
The brightness of the moon and the planets are changing over time. When the moon is only a thin crescent, its brightness usually doesn´t need to be dimmed. But by a half moon the eye is dazzled. This is also the case with planets. Often they are bright enough to make details on their surfaces disappear.

The variable polarising filter from TS-Optics is the solution. Gradually adjust the object´s brightness and spot finest details without eye strain.

The object´s color isn´t changed by the polarising filter and also its sharpness remains fully intact due to the plane parallel anti-glare glas-elements.

Range of application of the TS polarisation filter in summary:
Moon observation
Planet observation
Sun observation (with a suitable front solar filter)
Daylight observation

How you adjust the brightness - simple handling:

The filter consists of two linear polarising filters. The bottom filter can be rotated. The dimming effect results from the different alignment of the two filters.

Take out the eyepiece from the focuser, screw the filter on and set the right dimming factor by twisting th filter. The filter doesn´t add additional optical length, which means you will always be able to focus.

"Wird vorwiegend bei visuellen Mondbeobachtungen zur stufenlosen Reduzierung der Helligkeit verwendet. Das Verdrehen der Polarisationsfilter ist allerdings zu lotterig, das sollte etwas softer gehen ! "
