Moravian Filter Wheel CCD-EFW-2XS-7 for G2 series CCD cameras

The wheel accepts 7 unmounted 36 mm filters and is compatible with the Moravian off-axis guider, making it perfect for LRGB and narrow band tricolor images.

Many astrophotographers prefer a system with LRGB and narrowband filters. Usually, this consists of 3x narrowband ([O III], H-alpha, [S II]) and LRGB filters. With the now unnecessary manual filter change, the combination is very well suited for remote operation. Additionally, the filter wheel with its 144 mm diameter is compact.

Trouble-free adaption

Together, camera and filter wheel are extremely short. The total path from camera sensor to the front edge of the filter wheel housing is only 33.5 mm.

Power supply and control of the filter wheel is made via a RJ45 connector from the camera.

The filter wheel itself is screwed directly to the camera. There is still enough back focus for using telephoto lenses by using the EOS-EF adapter. This gives you the chance for working here with high-quality lenses, too.

Delivery of the filter wheel

Moravian ships the filter wheel readily configured with the G2 camera. You get an optimally coordinated unit of camera and filter wheel.

Unfortunately, independent retrofitting of an existing G2 camera is not possible. For this purpose, the camera has to be sent (for an additional charge) to Moravian, where the filter wheel is configured.
