Baader MBP - Mobile Observation Platform

The Baader MBP is a mobile platform for transporting heavy telescope systems over short distances. The rubber rollers offer a certain degree of protection against uneven ground when transporting heavy equipment: speed bumps of up to approx. 1 cm can be crossed relatively easily. The platform is supplied with three ground inserts, which can either be permanently anchored to the ground if the observation position is to be maintained, or can always be used as feet at the observation site when required. It is essential to secure the platform at the observation site on the three adjustable feet and to fix them with the supplied key and a nut to prevent play in the large threads of the adjustable feet. With the help of the adjustable feet and the enclosed spirit level, the platform can be leveled at the observation site.

The platform has numerous holes for directly mounting Baader BHP and BMP columns and the corresponding flanges. In addition, there are further bolt circles for mounting heavy azimuth telescope systems such as the AZ5000 from 10Micron. The maximum stationary load is approx. 800 kg. For transport only, the platform can carry loads of up to 600 kg. However, the adjustable feet should always be used at the respective locations.

Well-designed shipping crate
The shipping crate for the Baader BMP is included in the scope of delivery. The wooden crate is designed so that the lid can be folded down to form a ramp over which the MBP can be moved.
