Gerd Neumann EOS-M48 tilting flange
Especially with cameras with a large sensor, it often happens that aberrations occur in one or more image corners. This is usually caused by the camera sensor not being aligned exactly at right angles to the optical axis. With the CTU you can align your astro camera perfectly to an EOS lens and thus eliminate the problem.
You can also eliminate the so-called Newtonian rings, which can occasionally be observed when photographing the sun, by adjusting the sensor tilt.

Extremely sensitive adjustment is possible with the CTU: tilt adapters usually use three pairs of tension/compression screws arranged at an angle of 120° to each other. These screws are relatively coarse and make sensitive adjustment difficult.

At the heart of the CTU, on the other hand, are three screws that press radially onto an inclined surface. The inclination can be adjusted very precisely and reproducibly using these three screws. One turn increases the distance by 0.2 mm. The total stroke is only 1mm. Three sets of disk springs hold the camera securely in position.

The tilt can be adjusted without having to remove the camera thanks to the easily accessible screws.
