"I bought this mount as a replacement / upgrade of my Skywatcher EQ5 GOTO mount. What an upgrade! My success rate of sharp images due to better tracking accuracy has gone up significantly. Polar alignment and adjustment of ALT/AZ is a piece of cake. I love the larger knobs and handles (from an ergonomics point of view). One minor thing: in order to use the CGX mount with the ASIAir Pro or Plus you need to follow a very specific procedure. They are not compatible out of the box."

"Eine robuste Montierung mit exakter Nachführung - ideal koppelbar mit dem WLAN-Modul und so über das Tablet sehr gut zu steuern. Ein 12-Zoll-Newton trägt die CGX ohne Probleme."

"Die CGX ist eine stabile, aber auch sehr schwere Montierung. Bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt bin ich sehr zufrieden, wenn gleich die Genauigkeit bei der Nachführung in der RA Achse nicht besser ist als bei meiner LX85. Allerdings ist der Vergleich etwas unfair, da ich auf der LX 85 niemals so große Geräte bewegt habe. Leider habe ich ziemliche Probleme mit meinem ZWO ASIAIR Pro. Die Kommunikation funktioniert. Aber es kommt recht oft zu Fehlfunktionen. Ich habe die Firmware der CGX aktualisiert und dennoch immer wieder Probleme. Das könnte evtl. für einen Kunden, der mit einem ASIAIR arbeiten möchte, ein Handicap sein. Leider sind auch die Antriebe recht laut, trotz Riemen! Da kann man nachts im dicht bebauten Wohngebiet kaum noch damit arbeiten, ohne die Nachbarn zu stören. Wenn die Einrichtung funktioniert, dann ist das aber kein Problem, weil um die Zeit, wo es stören würde schon alles laufen sollte. Ansonsten ist die Montierung gut zu gebrauchen. Ich habe allerdings keinen Vergleich außer meine ""alte"" LX85."

"Great mount for the price. Gotos are good (usually in the field of view, if not near the center), even hours after alignment. 15-60s unguided exposures are possible. Guiding works well, if you counterweight correctly (very important). Very heavy, but that is a benefit if there is light breeze. Don´t forget to turn on the RTC (it is turned off for shipping). The Celestron AVX is a good mount, but this is much better. "
