"I intended to combine the 742 nm IR pass filter with guider scope. I expected smoother guiding due to reduced effect of seeing, which was confirmed. Another benefit of using this filter is the possibility to do polar alignment of the mount earlier. It is possible to accomplish polar alignment with Sun only 6° below horizon, making earlier start of observation possible. "
