"A top notch short refractor. The aluminium case is compact but they have allowed you to fit the scope back in the box loosely, as the foam is not tight around the OTA. Even though the dew shield comes with an extra locking screw, the grubscrews around the parameter seem snug enough to slide and hold in place. The 2.5"" focuser is very firm and all this seems to have been checked before sending. I gained 38mm of backfocus by removing the camera rotator and adding a baader short 2"" visual back. This scope with bino with a MBII in this configuration without a GPC installed, though being a fast refractor on bright objects a GPC is probably a good thing. The focuser itself can still rotate with the large locking screw (on the blue ring) close to the OTA tube. Having a vixen over a losmandy keeps it light. It is nice the vixen has a bit of extra length when placing it in a clamp - for balancing."
