Argo Navis Digital Telescope Computer unit with over 29,000 objects

The Argo Navis Digital Telescope Computer brings not only accurate positioning to your telescope, but also provides an enormous detailed database of tens of thousands of celestial objects.

Adapting the telescope computer to your GSO Dobsonian is easy, as all needed parts for this model are already included in the bundle.

Using the Argo Navis Computer is easy

Perform a quick two star alignment and off you go. No need to level your mount. It is fast and easy. As you move your scope, objects of interest are reported to you on the display in real-time. Alternatively, a particular object can be selected and the computer will provide you with “guiding” information
that will allow you to zero-in on it by simply manually turning the scope. The powerful 32-bit CPU will easily allow you to continuously track satellites. The sophisticated software even accounts for precession, nutation and atmospheric refraction.

Using the innovative Intelligent Editing System™, objects can be accessed quickly and easily by name without the need for a cumbersome keypad - even while wearing gloves!

Stand alone and with computer

The unit´s operation is completely standalone. In addition, you can also interface it to your favourite planetarium program running on your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone or Android smartphone or tablet.

If you want to retrofit the system to a complete GoTo with automatic positioning, that´s also possible using the ServoCAT™ controller.

Communications ports

Dual 4 pin RJ receptacles for two RS-232 channels supporting user definable speeds from 300 to 57600 bps.

User catalogs can be downloaded into the unit from the supplied Argonaut™ utility or third party utilities such as Astroplanner™ and SkyTools™.

Third party WiFi adapters such as the Roving Networks RN-340 und RN-370 are supported.

Third party serial to Bluetooth adapters such as the Roving Networks RN-270M are supported.
