Description

Baader 7nm H-alpha pass filter

1.25" H-Alpha pass filter 7nm - for nebula photography with high contrast - #2458382

Narrow band H-Alpha filter for CCD astro photography. This filter offers high contrast, allowing good deep-sky astrophotography even from big cities.
In combination with the Baader O-III CCD filter and the S-II filter impressive pseudo-colour photos are possible. Find examples in the "user reports" folder.

Perfect deep-sky photos with fast Fraunhofer refractors:

From the common point of view, achromatic refractors are not very suitable for astro photography. Their false colour enlarges the star diameters causing unsharp pictures.

With the H-Alpha pass filter, stars remain pinpoints because not only the disturbing urban straylight is completely supressed but also the false colour of fast achromatic telescopes. Just try it out, you will be impressed. Of course this is only valid for monochrome cameras or the red channel of RGB imaging.

User reports

"My experiences with the 7nm Baader filter have been fantastic. The filter is of very high quality, as are all the Baader filters and accessories. The ST-8 came with the 3nm CS filter which I used for a few months with good results. I started using the 7nm Baader after a friend of mine recommended I give it a try. He has been using one with his ST-10. The coatings appear to be quite good. I've experienced minimal reflections on brighter stars. The price is also very reasonable."
