The adaptor consists of two parts:

Part 1:
-- telescope adaptation: M45x1 female thread (thread of the Skywatcher and Orion Maksutovs)
-- eyepiece adaptation: SC male thread (2"-24 UNC)

Part 2:
-- telescope adaptation: SC female thread
-- eyepiece adaptation: 2" female with brass compression ring

-- complete lengh ... 55mm

Important note:

The adaptor will only fit on Skywatcher Maksutovs with the 45mm thread. These are the Maks originally supplied with a 1.25" adaptation. Skywatcher Maksutovs that already come with a 2" adaptation from the factory unfortunately have a different thread. The adaptor will not work on those Maksutovs!

Practical Tip from Teleskop-Service:

These Maksutov Cassegrains have a baffle tube with only about 30mm clear aperture (depending on the actual model). So from the theoretical viewpoint you might say that 2" doesn't work. From our practical experience however we can confirm that it does work!

Please do not forget: If you use an eyepiece with a larger field stop the image won't go from full illumination to zero illumination immediately. The image brightness will decrease gradually. The human brain can easily compensate 15% difference in image brightness and you will not even notice that there is any difference in brightness. If you look at the size of the 85% illuminated field you will see that much larger eyepieces can be used. Even if you limit yourself to 40mm field stop diameter you already gain more than 20% extra field of view compared with a 1.25" eyepiece.

Many practical observers know that even much lower levels of illumination are still acceptable and hardly noticeable. But the advantage of the larger field of view will remain in any case!
