The off-axis guider is an important accessory for the astrophotography with long focal length, as it allows for highest guiding accuracy. The Celestron off-axis guider uses a prism for deflecting a small portion of light out of the telescope´s image plane (and out of the field of the main camera) for tracking a guide star. Each movement of this star corresponds exactly the movement that is seen by the main camera. Thus the autoguider can compensate tracking errors without interference from further sources of error like bending of the guiding scope. Result: needle-sharp stars.

The Celestron off-axis guider affers special features:

The large 12.5 mm prism can be shiftet to the iddle of the image or to the edge. With this, you can adapt the OAG perfectly to the diameter of the camera sensor and the illumination of your telescope.

The "non rotating" helical focuser at the lateral insight allows for comfortable and exact focusing of the autoguider. After sharpness is achieved, the focuser is locked.

A comprehensive set of of adapter and fine-tuning rings is included, thus the search for the right adapter for the correct distance can be omitted. The following adapters are supplied:

1. Telescope-side conecting adapters for the 2" SCT/EdgeHD thread, connection to M48 and to T2
2. Three T2 distance rings with 24.25 mm, 11.55 mm and 6 mm length

Also optionally available is a full-frame adapter for the connection to the big EHD thread (EHD 1100 and EHD 1400) - see accessory recommendations.
