Custom-made adapter for the 3" Crayford focuser Orion ACU-3S to your telescope

Because of the short length, the very good workmanship and the flexible adaption, the Orion ACU-3S focuser is very well suited as a replacement for the often insufficient orginal focusers of many telescopes.

At the inner side, the housing of the focuser has a diameter of 101,7 mm. Setting is done by three screws which are displaced inwards by 5 mm. This adapter has the corresponding flange with a circular groove for ensuring a good fit.

The drawtube with an outer diameter of 86 mm protrudes 20 mm at the telescopes side when the focuser is retracted completly. This has to be taken into account when adapting to telescopes with a passage of less then 86 mm.

Because of the short construction, the adaption is possible to almost all telescopes.

The adaption to Newtonian telescopes (see examples at left) can be optimised individually for the diameter of your Newtonian. Here, the inclination of the supporting surface is adjusted suitably.

Adaptions to Schmidt-Cassegrains, RC telescopes or even refractor telescopes are easily possible.

Detailed and exact information about the mounting dimensions at the telescope tube (thread, inner diameter, etc.) or, for Newtonians, the diameter of the telescope tube.
