TS Spider for secondary holders in Newtonian tubes

Robust spider vanes guarantee good collimation stability. Nevertheless, they should lead to as low obstruction as possible in order to keep diffraction effects negligible. The TS Optics spider vanes fulfil these prerequisites.

In order to record your order correctly, we need the inside diameter of your tube.

How do I best mount the spider in the tube?:

At the ends of the spider vanes you have an M8 threaded rod with a length of 30 mm. This rod is fixed to the spider with an M4 screw. This is the best way to bring the spider into your tube.

Only install the spider when the primary mirror is removed.

Loosen three of the four M8 threaded rods.

Now insert the spider into the tube and insert the M8 threaded rod through the matching hole in your tube.

Now counter the spider slightly with an M8 counter nut (do not tighten).

Now fasten the other M8 threaded rods by inserting the rods from the outside into the other three holes. Tighten the M4 screws slightly. This work is a little bit complex, but it only needs to be done 1x.

Finally tighten the screws with a hexagon socket wrench and lock the spider with M8 nuts. We recommend suitable washers.
