The USB-Focuser 3.0 interface is a computer focus (USB) interface for astronomy and astrophotography
This interface allows you to control all types of motors from your computer:
DC DC motors type Sky-Watcher SW0190 or TSAcumotorfok via adapter cable (MP0009.2)
SCT-Focus Pierro-Astro SCT008 motors via a PC0024 cable
Pierro-Astro MP0003 stepper motors
Meade ZIS motors (direct connection to the 3.5 mm jack of the USB Focuser)
Moonlite DC motors via adapter cable (MP0009.7)
JMI DC motors (direct connection to the 3.5 mm jack of the USB Focuser)
Your own 4, 5 or 6-wire stepper motors, within the limit of 2 A / 12 V with connection by you (pay attention to the pinout! See documentation supplied with the interface or contact us)
Motors with standard Robofocus DB9 socket (with standard DB9 cable type PC0024)
Feather-Touch stepper motors via adapter cable: HSM (MP0009.5) and MSM (MP0009.4)

IT link
This interface works on all PCs equipped with Windows 10 32 and 64 bits, USB connection via USB type C cable (supplied) and an ASCOM driver.

Motor link
This interface has 3 sockets for motors (to be used separately, 2 motors must not be connected simultaneously):
a DB9 socket for Robofocus motors
a 3.5 mm stereo jack socket for direct current motors (pin 1 and 3 connected, the central pin serving as an insulator to prevent short circuits)
an RJ12 (6-wire) socket for direct current motors such as Sky-Watcher SW0190 (with specific MP0009.2 cable for example) or Pierro-Astro type MP0003 stepper motors or other FeatherTouch type stepper motors, etc.

Mains/12V power connection
The interface needs a 12 V power supply to function, we recommend the AL0006 at least to be able to distribute part of the current (permanent link) because it is equipped with 3 power sockets:
2 standard 5.5/2.1 mm female DC jack sockets to connect the 12 V power supply and a 12 V device to be supplied in parallel
1 female RCA socket for heating resistor, also allowing to supply a heating resistor in parallel.

Electrical protection
The USB Focuser 3 is now designed to avoid any electrical connection between the PC and the motor (complete isolation) this avoids a large number of problems! In addition, the motor driver component used is very efficient and heats very little. In the event of a motor short-circuit, reverse polarity, earth fault or static electricity, the PC is protected even if the interface is destroyed by a bad connection!

Manual focus buttons
The interface is equipped with 3 red buttons for manual focus and gear change
The buttons are only activated during the ASCOM link to avoid "losing" the position of the motor steps in the debugging software.
The buttons do not work if the interface is not connected to the PC and no ASCOM link software is started on the PC.

The USB-Focuser 3 interface at a glance
Focusing with DC motors type JMI, Sky-Watcher, Orion accufocus, and all other types of DC motors up to 2A max.
Focusing with Robofocus type motors (with DB9 plug) and practically all other stepper motors on the market, with 4 wires, 5 wires or 6 wires (pinout described in the documentation) up to 2 A max.
1 9-15 V power port (12 V recommended): and 2 output power ports to power your mount and your heating resistor
3 buttons on the front for the focus-in / focus-out and speed focusing functions allowing manual focusing (as soon as the ASCOM link is established) -- Generic USB drivers compatible with all recent Windows systems in 32 and 64 bits (7, 8, 8.1, 10, etc.) high performance and without installation problems.
ASCOM drivers for stepping or direct current focus management, compatible with ALL astronomical debugging software.
Focusing software "FineFocus" simply allowing the focusing by motor
