Single axis stepper motor tracking system for EQ2 - compensation for the earth's rotation

This tracking motor set is intended for the Skywatcher EQ-2 mount. It is mounted to the R.A. axis and compensates for the movement of celestial objects. When the motor is switched on, long-term observations are possible with the object staying inside the field of view.
All that's need to be done before is a polar alignment of the mount.

Perfect control through stepper motors
The tracking speed is kept precisely by a quartz-controlled stepper motor. You additionally have the opportunity change the speed to 2x and 8x sidereal speed in order to center an object in the field of view.

Hand control box

Astro photography:
Due to the precise tracking, astro photography with the EQ-2 is possible: Moon and Planets can be captured with telescope and a digital camera. Galaxies and other deep-sky objects can be captured using a lens with max. ca. 75mm.
