The StarBlast 4,5 of Orion - an interesting starter alternative and a travel scope!

Easy to use - ideal for beginners ... put the scope onto a table and just aim at the sky region of interest. Using the alt-azimuth mount, each object on the sky - or on Earth - is within reach. The slewing works smoothly without any rattle, and even with high magnification you centre your object easily. t

The particular well made, parabolic optics ... neary all reflectors of that size have a simple spherical mirror as a primary. Not the 4.5 with it's precise, diffraction-limited parabolic primary optics. The result is a very fast system with a high definition image at moon and planets at the same time. The Star Blast 4.5 is a real allrounder.

High rigidity ... many small instruments sit on a rather flimsy mount. As a result, the image wobbles when focusing or when it is even slightly windy. The StarBlast 4.5 is well and rigidly mounted. Even stronger wind gusts leave this instrument unimpressed.

Observation ranges
-- moon and planets ... high detail due to parabolic optics
-- nebulae and galaxies ... good image brightness by 114mm primary aperture
-- photography ... adaption with the TS Digital clamp (Digiklemme) - so imaging moon and planets is possible
-- terrestrial use ... well suited when equipped with the image erecting lens (Newton corrector) of Vixen

The StarBlast 4,5 is not only a nice travel scope or a beautiful instrument for the beginner, it is a base for more fun in the astronomical observation - independent if you are novice or experienced observer.

A customer quote - until now I observed with a similar instrument with the same aperture and focal length, and I thought what I saw was just what a small fast Newtonian can show. Now I looked through yours and it literally opened my eyes. At Saturn, where I just saw a hint of the ring before, the ring is now hovering around the planet. Also nebulae and galaxies are brighter - maybe due to the bigger secondary mirror. I am looking forward to more observing, for me this instrument is a perfect portable universal telescope.
